Are You Fired Up?

This morning with Arlo strapped to my back we ventured out to spend 5 quality hours with over 20,000 of our neighbors (From the very young to the very old) and share in the excitement of Barack Obama's latest Rally in Down Town Greensboro. The line to get in stretched for hours and for blocks, but it was all well orchestrated and the mood was charged with HOPE. The A&T drum line played for quite some time, and it was Awesome! I've been listening to them practice from across the neighborhood for several nights now as I put Arlo to bed, so it was great to see the actual show. We were also very fortunate to have made it into the immediate area of the podium, as the crowd was sectioned off as it stretched up Washington Street - to keep everyone safe and manageable. Arlo played with our rally sign the whole time and caught the eye of many photographers - He's just the cutest politcal junkie on the trail! But anyway...Barack was great - no big suprises in his speech, but coming fresh off the debate gave it new ammunition and some very well placed jokes at McCain's expense.

I know you can barely see, but Barack Obama is in the center in the white shirt

Here is the crowd stretching back up Washington Street, far beyond the American Flag

Side note: I really wish HST was around for this one...
