We spent last weekend at my boss' beach house with my coworker, Kristin, and her kids.

Well, it's a little different than New England, but what a great beach! Perfect swimming - shallow with big waves, and I have to say the water temperature was perfect! Not too hot, not too cold. Oh yeah - NO SEAWEED!! We all spent A LOT of time just hanging out in the water, which of course had nothing to do with the fact that it was in the 90's and wicked humid.

Arlo was so excited...

Until he touched the sand...Then the struggle ensued. He decided he wanted to go back inside and take off his suit - he was not going on the beach - 'There's water all over the place!' he says....So after his nap we went for it again, this time I just carried him all the way from the house right into the water. All was fine. He loved the waves, yelling 'To infinity and Beyond' as we rode each one...absolutely too cute. Then he started yelling at Dada that he wasn't getting him into the BIG waves...then he was yelling at us to let him go...crazy kid.

Happily swimming worked out, but he still wouldn't touch the sand, so out of the ocean we went carrying him straight away up to the house. Yes, Nana, I know karma is haunting me on this one! The last night I put on his shoes and socks and brought him down to the beach. He finally gave in and we finally got to walk the beach! That is until it started to rain 5 minutes later...oy.

Of course Arlo loved hanging out with the big girls...
